Commission

A Painting Made for You

The Process

Every Commission Begins with a Conversation

A commissioned painting isn't a product order. It's a collaboration — and Amy approaches it that way.

You bring the space, the feeling you're after, the colors that matter to you, and the story you want the work to hold. Amy brings the eye, the technique, and the experience of translating an idea into paint.

Every commissioned piece is original — painted specifically for you. No reprints, no templates. When the work is finished, you own something that exists nowhere else.

How It Works

The Commission Process

01

Consultation

It starts with a conversation — by email or phone. Amy wants to understand your space, your taste, what you're drawn to in the work you've already seen, and what you want the piece to do in your home or office. No commitment required for this step.

02

Concept Development

Based on your conversation, Amy develops a direction for the work — size, palette, subject matter, mood. She'll share her thinking with you before a single brushstroke is placed. This is where refinements happen, before the canvas commitment.

03

Creation

Amy paints. Timelines vary by scale and complexity — most commissions take four to ten weeks from approval to completion. She communicates throughout and will share progress images at key stages if that's something you'd like.

04

Final Delivery

The finished painting is photographed, documented, and carefully packaged. Local pickup is available. Nationwide shipping is arranged through trusted fine art carriers, fully insured. Your piece arrives ready to hang.

Common Questions

What Collectors Ask

How is pricing determined?

Commission pricing is based on size, complexity, and timeline. Amy provides a transparent quote after the initial consultation — there are no hidden fees. A deposit is required to reserve your place on the schedule.

Can I see my space reflected in the work?

Absolutely. Many collectors share photos of the room where the painting will live — wall color, furniture, natural light. This helps Amy make selections that will feel right in context, not just beautiful in isolation.

What if I don't know exactly what I want?

That's the most common starting point. Bring whatever you have — a color, a feeling, an image that moves you, a reference to something in the gallery. Amy is practiced at working from impressions and turning them into something specific and original.

Do you ship nationally?

Yes. Amy ships throughout the United States using professional fine art carriers. Paintings are crated or wrapped securely and fully insured during transit. International shipping is available on a case-by-case basis.

What if I love a sold painting and want something similar?

Amy does not reproduce sold originals. But she can absolutely create a new work in a similar spirit — same palette, similar subject, same emotional register. These often become collectors' favorites because the work evolves from the original.
